First Day of School

August 10, 2009 came too quick this year. The first day of school again. The girls just keep getting bigger and bigger. Lindsey is now a big 5th grader. I can't believe that it is her last year of elementary school. It seems like yesterday that Brian graduated from law school and Lindsey began Kindergarten 3 months later. Kirsten is now in 3rd grade and Caroline is in 1st. Lauren starts preschool on September 1st. In two short years I will have them all in school all day! That is so weird!

Tilapia anyone?

This is what I made for dinner tonight. It is called Lime Butter Fish with easy herb pasta. Very yummy. The kids even liked it. Brian set a new record tonight on his commute home. 2hrs 45 min. There was a gas spill. So he sat and sat and sat. The girls and I were so sad. He even left 45 min earlier than normal so that he could spend more time with us.
Kirsten is my sweet little pal! I sure do love her!

Why is it so Quiet?

Well, the kids did go back to school. I still need to post pictures of their first day. So is has been very quiet around here, just Lauren and I. Lauren is going to start pre-school on September 1st. She will go twice a week. That will be a much needed break for me. I think I might possibly spend most of my time alone at the gym. Yeah!!!
Today I was wondering why Lauren was being so quiet and not demanding my attention. I thought she was just having a great time playing. So, I left her alone. She has never ever done anything destructive in our house or to our house for that matter. She really is a good girl. Well, today she found the nail polish and decided to paint her own nails. This being my fourth girl and this has happened more times than I can count, I did not get mad at all (I usually do). The picture tells the story. At least it was on the tile in the bathroom and not on any carpet. I love you Lauren. Mommy is not mad. (She said," mom I think you are going to be mad".)

Tumbling

We put Lindsey and Kirsten in tumbling this summer. They absolutely loved every minute of it. They went Mon - Thur for 1 1/2 hours for the whole summer. They both learned how to do a round off back handspring. Kirsten loves it so much. She spends a lot of her spare time out on our trampoline practicing. Lindsey did a great job too, she just doesn't think about tumbling nonstop like Kirsten does. Here are a few videos of them at their class. And one of Kirsten in our neighborhood doing it on the grass.

4th of July and Brian's B-day

We have been having a great summer. I can not believe that we only have like a month left until school starts back up again. Time has just flown. The older two girls have been taking tumbling all summer. They go everyday of the week except Friday. They are getting so worn out. But they are just loving it. They are both soooo close to getting a back handspring on the ground without a spot.
So, we have an awesome ward here. Every 4th of July we have a great party at a families home in our ward that lives on 5 acres. We always have great food and lots of treats like popcorn and cotton candy machines. There are so many fun activities. The best one is the slip n slide which is the highlight of the day. On the slip n slide the kids add tons and tons of dish soap to make it really slippery. You can't tell from the photos but the slide is on a downhill slope which made it so much fun. Not to mention the water fight that the adults and youth get into. So scroll down to find all the crazy pictures.
This was taken right before the fireworks started.
I can not forget to mention that Brian had a birthday on July 1st. We took him to dinner at his favorite pizza place and got into a water gun fight.
Here is Kirsten and her good friends from church. They were having a great time while waiting for our firework show to start.

4th of July

Kirsten was not wanting to get her picture taken. Can you tell?
